Data Processing Agreement

If you are using OutBudget on behalf of an organisation that controls personal data of third parties (employees, clients, etc.), you may need a signed Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with us under Article 28 of the GDPR (or equivalent under UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, or comparable frameworks).

OutBudget is a personal-finance tool, so this is unusual — most of our users are processing their own data, not third-party personal data, and a DPA is not required for personal use. But if you do need one, we’re happy to provide it.

How to request a DPA

  1. Email support@outbudget.com with the subject “DPA request”.
  2. Include your full legal entity name, country of incorporation, and a brief description of why you need the DPA.
  3. We will reply within 5 business days with our standard DPA, pre-signed by us. Counter-sign and return one copy.

What our DPA covers

Our standard DPA covers the topics required by GDPR Art. 28(3): subject matter and duration, nature and purpose of processing, types of personal data, categories of data subjects, the obligations of OutBudget as processor, the use of subprocessors, security measures, and assistance with data-subject rights and breach notification. It incorporates the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for any transfers outside the EU/EEA.

For transfers from the EU/EEA to OutBudget (established in the United States, a country without a general EU adequacy decision), the DPA incorporates Module 2 (Controller-to-Processor) of the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by Decision 2021/914, which serve as the transfer mechanism under GDPR Chapter V.

The list of subprocessors we rely on is published on the Subprocessors page and updated whenever it changes.

Our security commitments

Detailed technical and organisational measures are documented on the Security page. The DPA references that page and pins us to maintain at least the controls described there for the duration of the agreement.
